Sherri Mclaughlin-Ryan has had a passion for dance and theater for many years. She has mentored many young teachers and inspired many students to pursue their dreams and discipline their talent to reach their goals.
Specializing in tap jazz lyrical ballet and musical theater Sherri mclaughlin Ryan began teaching dance when she was in high school. Her first studio began in 1993 when she created multiple programs for Students throughout Union and Middlesex county. Receiving college scholarships from the New Jersey state Miss America and miss USA organizations she realized She really wanted to tour professionally in summer stock musical theater productions where she played the lead in dream girls chorus line 42nd St. from 1982 to 1987. Once returning home and getting married she decided to inspire her hometown students of Plainfield New Jersey by creating the first arts afterschool nonprofit program “Artsmarts” as well as a for profit Studio call Plainfield Performing Arts Center. She then expanded to providing performing arts education through the municipality of Westfield Scotch Plains and Cranford for summer programs. Sherri has touched over 5000 students and continues to educate boys And Girls in the art of dance and musical theater. She is proud to have taught Broadway performers, college dance majors as well as students working in film and television .
Her goal is to help students realize their true potential and hope to give them the clear systems to realize their professional artistic dream.
